Google Magic Eraser: Now Available for Apple iPhone and Samsung Galaxy Devices

Google has made an exciting announcement on Thursday, extending the availability of its Magic Eraser photo editing tool to all Google One subscribers using Google Photos. Previously exclusive to Pixel 7 and Pixel 6 smartphone users, this feature utilizes machine learning and AI to remove unwanted elements from photos. Alongside this, Google Photos on both iOS and Android smartphones will receive new collage styles and an HDR video effect feature.

Expanded Accessibility of Magic Eraser

Initially limited to Pixel 7 and Pixel 6 series phones, Google has now opened up the Magic Eraser tool to all Google One subscribers, regardless of their subscription plans. Even owners of earlier Pixel models, such as the Pixel 5a, can now enjoy the benefits of Magic Eraser on Google Photos without needing a subscription.

How to Use the Magic Eraser Tool

To utilize the Magic Eraser tool, follow these simple steps:

  1. Open Google Photos.
  2. Select the photo you want to edit.
  3. If Magic Eraser doesn’t appear as a suggested editing tool, tap Edit > Tools > Magic Eraser.

New HDR Video Effect and Enhanced Editing Features

In addition to the Magic Eraser expansion, Google has introduced a new HDR effect for videos. This feature enhances brightness and contrast, resulting in balanced and dramatic videos that are easily shareable. The rollout for this feature has commenced alongside the Magic Eraser expansion.

Moreover, Google now allows all users to apply Styles to individual photos within the collage editor. Users with Google One or Pixel devices can access a broader range of new Styles when creating collages.

Furthermore, Google One subscribers will benefit from free shipping on Print Store orders, including photo books, canvas prints, and photo prints, in select regions such as the United States, Canada, European Union, and the United Kingdom.
