The Income Tax (IT) department has introduced a new mobile application called AIS for Taxpayers, enabling taxpayers to conveniently access important financial data from their smartphones. This app provides users with details such as tax deducted at source (TDS), tax collected at source (TCS), dividend income, income tax refunds, and more.
Downloading the AIS for Taxpayers App
The AIS for Taxpayers app is accessible on both Android and iOS platforms. You can download it for Android smartphones here and for iOS smartphones here.
Registering for the AIS for Taxpayers App
To register for the AIS for Taxpayers app, follow these steps:
- Open the app on your smartphone and navigate through the introduction slides.
- Enter your PAN and date of birth/formation or incorporation.
- Agree to the terms and conditions by clicking the checkbox and proceed.
- Provide your primary mobile number and email ID, then confirm.
- Enter the OTPs sent to your number and email, and verify them.
- Set a 4-digit MPIN for future logins.
Once registered and MPIN is set, you can easily log in to access your information.
Viewing TDS, Dividend Income, and Income Tax Refund
Follow these steps to view your financial data using the AIS for Taxpayers app:
- Launch the app on your smartphone and enter your 4-digit MPIN.
- Select “Annual Information Statement (AIS).”
- Choose the information you wish to view, such as TDS, income tax refund, etc.
Providing Feedback
If you notice any discrepancies while viewing your information, you can provide feedback to resolve them:
- While viewing the information, click “Submit feedback” at the bottom of the screen.
- Provide relevant details to address the issue.
